LAWMATE Digital Video Recorders in Details

Lawmate Company deals with a wide range of products mostly designed for surveillance and spying operations. One of their main products is Digital Video Recorder. These DVRs spans for quite a range and are broadly classified into two: Standalone mini DVRs and Portable mini DVRs. The main differences between these two classes are as their names suggests. Standalone DVRs are fixed to a wall or some stand (Mostly a power source or Ethernet) while the Portable ones can easily be carried around as they rely on their battery power source rather than mains or wall socket. The Portable DVRs also use other forms of communication like Bluetooth, WIFI, 3G/4G etc to convey information to the server as opposed to the standalone DVRs which use the tradition Ethernet cable or USB cable mounted to them.

Standalone Mini DVRs:

Taking a closer look to standalone Mini DVRs; the latest and most advanced are:

a. PV-500 L3(Lite3) model – Comes with a touch screen (3”) and longer battery life. Just like its earlier predecessors, it's small – size of a cigarette pack and can easily be placed somewhere hidden. Since it has a 3 inch touch screen, it's easier to review recorded data without need to use a PC or laptop. This DVR is very cheap as compared to other more advanced DVRs; due to it's pricing and size; it's best suited for situations of covert recording where there is a risk of losing the DVR.

b. PV-500 EVO2 – 3” - Just like it's previous models; This model provides actual edge compared to other products in its price category. It provides very high quality camera recording and is among the easiest models to operate. On top of the usual specifications – as found in the other models – Resolution support from low VGA to HD, Analogue or Digital Camera support, Multiple recording modes, Multiple operation modes i.e. Touch Screen, IR Remote or Wired Controller and ability to record audio source from integrated microphone or attached camera: PV-500 EVO2 also comes equipped with a new 3” Highly responsive LCD Touch Screen, H.264 Video Compression Support, up to 1080p recording and 2MP camera support.

c. PV-1000 Touch – 5' Touchscreen Full HD 320GB HDD DVR – This DVR comes with an extra 500GB SATA HDD on top of all the other features of its previous models. This model comes 5 INCH 800 x 480 Touch Screen, recording resolution of up to 1080p, integrated microphone, multiple recording modes, multiple resolutions and adjustable Frames per Second, Multiple Level of password Protection; Compatibility with many Lawmate external attachable Cameras.

Portable Mini DVRs:

Portable DVRs are further categorized into two: Covert and non-covert DVRs. Covert DVRs refers to the ones that can be disguised to something else without being easily detected while non-covert refers to the DVRs that even if disguised to something else may be easily detected.

Portable Non Covert DVRs:

a. PV-50HD – Is Matchbox sized DVR, 15mm slim Design with only two button simple operation I.e Power and Record Buttons, Uses a direct connection to cable controller, is compatible with Analogue Camera and supports a Micro SD memory card of up to 32GB.

b. PV-RC300 Mini – This is the smallest DVR – just thumb sized hence used for wide range of surveillance applications e.g. in-car recording, body-worn video, web cam etc; Has a 1.3MP Camera with both video recording and photo shooting support offering up to 80 minutes constant recording and supporting up to 32GB Micro SD card.

Portable Covert DVRs:

a. PV-RC200+ - Resembles a key-fob. The DVR Camera is hidden in the remote controller and has no visible indications. Has an integrated microphone supporting audio recording, Micro SD, LED Indicators and USB ports are all hidden inside. The device supports snapshot pictures and HD resolution recording.

b.PV-RC200HD Has a new design much more suitable disguised to a standard key-fob look, a New 5MP camera sensor delivering HD Video recording and crystal clear snapshot. It comes with Wide Dynamic Range Video Recording (WDR) and an integrated microphone for audio recording.

c. PV900 HD Disguises a cell phone with a very user friendly interface and snapshots functionalities. Simple control by the navigation key and IR Remote Controller; Works well even in dark environments and supports recording even when screen is turned off for better disguise. Supports both micro SD storage and USB connection. Has more advanced feature of Motion Detection and Pre Event Schedule recording modes.

d. Lawmate PV 900 FHD is disguises as a medium sized Smartphone with an option of turning black the screen in spy mode for better covert recording. This device is able to record videos in FULL HD up to 1080p, zoom functionality and burst static image recording. PV900 FHD has HDMI out support for easy video reviewing via a LCD or Plasma TV and an integrated microphone for audio recording.

e. Lawmate PV-LD12 resembles a polished aluminum flask but has an hidden camera at the top of the device therefore acts as the best disguise for home, business or leisure environments surveillance. The flask can as well be used to carry liquids but due to DVR sensitivity; it is not advisable to carry very hot liquids. Has a HD quality sensor alongside a HD/VGA switch to increase quality/recording time. An integrated microphone for audio recording is also hidden inside the flask.
